“KAMAZ” presents capabilities in the field of innovative passenger automotive production at the 15th International Exhibition “ElectroTrans 2026,” taking place from September 29 to October 1 in Moscow. At the joint booth of the leading Russian automaker and JSC “Ryazan Design Bureau “Globus” – one of the leading enterprises in instrumentation industry in the Ryazan region, specializing in the production of charging stations – the KAMAZ-52222 electric bus of the A5 generation and the KAMAZ-6282 command electric bus are showcased.
“KAMAZ” is a regular participant in this exhibition. Today, the leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in Russia pays great attention to the development of bus and electric bus production. The new models in the passenger transport lineup are the result of the application of advanced technologies and represent a kind of evolution in the public transport sector. The enterprise actively participates in the implementation of federal programs for updating public transport fleets, holds leading positions in the Russian passenger transport market, and is a leader in the Russian electric bus market.
Serial production of the one presented at the exhibition new generation KAMAZ-52222 A5 electric bus It began in 2025 by order of the State Unitary Enterprise “Mosgortrans” – the largest operator of ground urban passenger transport in Moscow. Unlike the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus model of 2018, the new model has a range of up to 100 km, is equipped with a more efficient climate system with electric heaters for the cabin, touch buttons for door opening, and an 18% larger route indicator. The door design has changed: the hinged-sliding doors open outward, eliminating the risk of passengers being caught. The width of the accumulation platform has been increased to 1380 mm, which corresponds to European standards. A special area for placing a wheelchair is provided. Inside the passenger cabin, atmospheric reflected lighting with an adaptive function is used – cool in the morning, warm in the evening.
Safety is provided by an electronic braking system with ABS, ASR, and hill-hold control. To improve driver working conditions, the workspace has been enlarged, and new options have been added – heated steering wheel and electronic parking brake. Other effective solutions have also been implemented. The fully low-floor interior is designed to carry 85 people, with seating available for 35 passengers.
The new generation electric bus is a universal platform for the development of the KAMAZ A5 generation passenger transport line.
In addition to the modern design, the model received a reduced body weight, which allowed for lower fuel consumption; domestically produced traction batteries with increased capacity were used; the electric bus features an improved air conditioning system. Since 2026, a transition to charging the electric bus using a contact rail has been implemented, which significantly reduced the cost of both the electric bus itself and the charging infrastructure.
Deliveries of the new generation KAMA3-52222 A5 electric bus to Moscow began in 2025, and more than 650 electric buses of this model have already been delivered to date.
LLC “SETrans”, a subsidiary of the automotive giant, presents at the exhibition headquarters electric bus KAMAZ-6282 – the first prototype electric bus, produced in 2016. This is a unique vehicle with factory number XTC628200H000001, the first example of a new model produced by PJSC KAMAZ. This electric bus was presented at the “Busworld Russia-2016” exhibition in Moscow and won first place in the “Best Domestic Bus” category. Later, the electric bus was purchased by a subsidiary company of KAMAZ and refurbished using more modern components and assemblies. Today, it is part of the corporation’s history, and LLC “SETrans” showcases it during tours, career guidance events, and exhibitions.
“ElektroTrans” is the only exhibition in the world comprehensively dedicated to the development of electric mobility in cities. The event is attended by manufacturers of electric transport and components, technology suppliers, design organizations, representatives of transport departments, and administrations.
