In Moscow, the implementation of the world’s largest program for the restoration and revival of architectural monuments continues. Sergey Sobyanin spoke about this on his channel on the messenger “Max”.

“Every year, specialists restore approximately

Restorers are currently restoring more than 500 cultural heritage sites. Among them is, for example, the Pashkov House on Vozdvizhenka, built at the end of the 18th century for the wealthy Moscow leaseholder Pyotr Pashkov, presumably designed by the great architect Vasily Bazhenov. The building is an exquisite example of Russian architecture and an important architectural monument of the era.

Specialists are putting in order white-stone plinth and continue scientific research for the further restoration of this majestic building.

Donskoy Stavropegial Men’s Monastery The Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, located on Donskaya Square, is one of the oldest shrines in Moscow. The monastery is famous for its unique combination of ancient Russian architecture and Baroque style. The ensemble includes more than 30 historical and cultural monuments. Specialists have already restored the historical appearance of the rector’s house, renovated the facades and domes of the New Cathedral, as well as nine of the 12 fortress towers.

Work continues in one of the monastery’s brotherly buildings. The restoration of the bell tower of the western gates, the 10th tower, is nearing completion. Ahead is the restoration of the Church of St. John Chrysostom with the lower church of the Great Martyr Catherine.

During the works in the New Cathedral of the Donskoy Monastery, a well-preserved unique wall painting from the 18th century by the Italian artist Antonio Claudio in the so-called Pompeian style was discovered.

Another object is — yrThe main house of the former noble estate Uzkoe from the 16th century on Profsoyuznaya Street, in the interiors of which many authentic household items, furniture, and artworks of famous noble families are presented: the Streshnevs, Golitsyns, Tolstoys, and Trubetskoys. This is a collection of paintings featuring works by European masters of the 17th–18th centuries and pieces by celebrated Russian artists, as well as antique furniture and decorative items.

“Restorers are now completing work in the central part and the southern wing of the main building. The Federal Scientific Clinical Center for Resuscitation and Rehabilitation is located here,” added the Mayor of Moscow.

Preserving significant cultural heritage sites enriches the urban environment and improves the quality of life for Muscovites. This aligns with the goals of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”. More details about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.
