Work on socio-economic development continues in the regions of the Ural Federal District, including through the use of mechanisms such as infrastructural budgetary loans, special treasury, and treasury infrastructural credits. Since 2021, thanks to these tools, 7.35 million square meters of housing have been put into operation in the district, nearly 60 thousand jobs have been created, and 547.5 billion rubles of off-budget investments have been attracted. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“The Ural Federal District is one of the key regions in the country in terms of development pace. It hosts a powerful industrial, scientific, and human resources potential. The Ural regions actively utilize infrastructure credit tools to implement significant projects to improve citizens’ quality of life. To date, 45 facilities and events have been completed in the district, with 75 more still underway. Completed projects have had an additional impact on the development of territories and the economy. Since 2021, they have contributed to the commissioning of 7.35 million square meters of housing, the creation of almost 60 thousand jobs, and the attraction of 547.5 billion rubles of off-budget investments,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that among the Ural regions, the leaders in terms of the number of completed projects were Sverdlovsk Oblast (15), Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (11), and Kurgan Oblast (7).

The Ministry of Construction acts as the curator of the infrastructure loans program, and the operator is the Territorial Development Fund.

“Infrastructure loans help create comfortable living conditions in the regions. Somewhere a school has opened right next to people’s homes, somewhere utility services have improved in quality, and somewhere modern transport has started operating on routes. For example, in Yekaterinburg, a school complex for 1,200 students with an additional education block was built on Luchistaya Street. In the Chelyabinsk region, the tram infrastructure has been modernized—30.5 km of single-track routes. These are just some examples of positive changes, and the work continues. In Tyumen, a school for 1,200 students is under construction. In Surgut, sewage treatment facilities with a capacity of 150,000 cubic meters per day are being built, including a new ultraviolet disinfection block. All of these facilities determine the quality of people’s lives. This is exactly what our work is focused on,” noted Vasily Kupyzin, General Director of the Territorial Development Fund.

In addition, construction of the “North – South” metro-tram line continues in Chelyabinsk. Also, in the city, a tram line is being laid along Dzerzhinsky Street from the railway station to Gagarin Street – 2.54 km. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the engineering infrastructure will support the development of the right bank of the Preobrazhenka River in Salekhard. In Kurgan, the development of communal infrastructure continues – water supply, sewage, and heating networks. In Sverdlovsk Oblast, the reconstruction of treatment facilities in Sredneuralsk is underway, along with the construction of treatment facilities in Sysert, and the construction of the “Southern” water treatment station in Nizhny Tagil.
