Residents of the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow,” producing innovative pharmaceutical drugs, invested over 5.8 billion rubles in the city’s economy in the first half of 2026. “By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, a modern pharmaceutical cluster is being formed in the capital. The center for industry development is the SEZ ‘Technopolis Moscow,’ where a wide range of innovative medicines for fighting oncological, cardiological, endocrine, autoimmune, and other diseases are already being produced. From January to June 2026, 15 resident enterprises invested more than 5.8 billion rubles. Over the entire period of operation, pharmaceutical companies that localized their production in the capital’s SEZ have invested 70 billion rubles into the city’s economy,” said Maksim Liksutov.
The leader in investment volume in the first half of 2026 was a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development of biosimilars and innovative drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. The organization’s portfolio already includes seven drugs, with two more undergoing clinical trials. The company’s investments exceeded 2.5 billion rubles. Another company, which will produce plasma-derived drugs, invested one billion rubles.
The manufacturer of drugs for the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, endocrine, nervous, and respiratory systems, as well as antimicrobial agents and drugs for normalizing blood formation, has invested more than 900 million rubles. Its product line includes 100 international non-proprietary names.
Today, the largest pharmaceutical cluster in Russia is being formed on the territory of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow.” Two more high-tech enterprises are being constructed on its sites. The biotechnological complex “Artsellence” will produce drugs based on monoclonal antibodies, RNA and cellular technologies, including unique stem cell developments. The new building of the “Velfarm-M” plant will organize a full production cycle of drugs for the treatment of oncological, hormonal, and autoimmune diseases.
The special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow” will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Over the years, it has transformed from a launchpad for innovative projects into a key hub of domestic industry and a magnet for companies that determine Russia’s technological sovereignty. Today, on 10 sites of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” covering a total area of 430 hectares, production of more than 240 high-tech enterprises is localized, representing strategic directions such as microelectronics, instrumentation, biomedicine, IT, and robotics.
