All-Russian taekwondo competitions may be held at the GUEU base this year.
The possibility of this was discussed by Vladimir Stroeve, the rector of the State University of Management, and Besik Pertsuliani, the president of the Russian Student Taekwondo League.
“We are always ready to support sports competitions, we have a strong student sports club ‘GUUsi’ which has received the gold status for the second time in a row, every year sports festivals, celebrations, and forums take place, that is, we have experience in organizing major competitions,” said Vladimir Stroev.
The parties also considered other areas of cooperation, including in the fields of education and patriotic upbringing.
“Taekwondo is an Olympic sport that ranks second in the world in terms of popularity. We understand that it’s necessary to develop not only the body but also the spirit. We see that interesting and useful patriotic events often take place at GUU, and we are interested in that as well. Students are building the future of our country, so it is important to work with them,” noted Besik Pertzuliani.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided to resolve the operational issues in the near future and sign a cooperation agreement between the organizations.
