Two more routes of the “Moscow — Region” project will open on September 19. Passengers will be able to travel from the capital to the villages of Veshki and Pirogovsky. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
“On behalf of Sergey Sobyanin, together with the Government of the Moscow Region, we are ensuring mainline bus communication between the two regions. We are now actively launching routes of the ‘Moscow — Region’ project in the Mytishchi urban district. From September 19, two more directions will connect settlements in this urban district with the nearest metro stations. Before launching the routes, we will conduct a final inspection of their routes to check for the placement of the necessary information for passengers,” said Maxim Liksutov.
Modern equipment for new routes
New vehicles will be deployed on routes No. 1098 and 1502, which were delivered as part of a large purchase of 600 Russian-made buses of various capacity classes. They are equipped to the highest standards of Moscow transport for comfortable long journeys. Small-class buses will operate on the first route, medium-class on the second.
Boarding and disembarking will be carried out through all the doors of the buses. All the transport is low-floor, with wide accumulation areas. The cabins are equipped with climate control systems, media panels, and USB ports for charging gadgets. In addition, the new buses have more soft seats with seat belts.
Modern small-class buses will operate on route No. 1098, which are adapted for routes with low passenger flow or travel along narrow streets. This is especially relevant for small settlements in the Moscow region. In total, the capital has signed a contract for the supply of 115 such vehicles. In addition to the routes of the “Moscow — region” project, they have already been introduced on eight routes intended for small settlements in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts.
Modern KamAZ-4290 mid-class buses will operate on route No. 1502. This equipment has proven excellent on difficult sections of roads where it is challenging for larger vehicles to pass or make turns.
To evaluate the performance of the new buses, you can leave feedback about your trip via QR codes inside the cabin. You need to scan them with your smartphone camera and fill out the feedback form. Stickers with QR codes are located near the driver’s cabin and above the area for strollers, bicycles, and large luggage in the middle of the cabin.
Fare payment
Route No. 1502 is a zonal circular route. The fare depends on the distance traveled, so you need to tap your card both when entering and when exiting. When traveling from the Medvedkovo metro station to the Pirogovsky settlement, the price will range from 71 to 119 rubles using the “Troika” card and from 76 to 124 rubles using a bank card. For a full circle from the Medvedkovo metro station and back through the Pirogovsky settlement, passengers will pay from 71 to 173 rubles with the “Troika” card and from 76 to 178 rubles with a bank card.
On route No. 1098, the fare will be fixed, so you only need to tap your card upon entry — the price will be 71 rubles with a “Troika” card and 76 rubles with a bank card.
In addition, on these routes, as well as on other routes of the “Moscow — Oblast” project, travel will be available with unlimited “Unified” subscriptions for the “Suburban” zone for 30, 90, or 365 days. Using them is advantageous — the savings amount to up to 60 percent per year. It is also possible to transfer freely across all city transport. For the Moscow student card, “Unified” travel passes for 30 and 90 days with the “Suburban” zone will be valid. Preferential categories of citizens will be able to use free travel with the Moscow and Moscow Oblast resident cards. Persons under 60 years old will be able to travel free of charge using the Moscow Oblast resident card both on all adjoining routes of the capital and on regional ones. If the card does not work on the bus, one should contact a multifunctional center in the Moscow Oblast territory for its re-encoding.
Discounts for transfers to the metro and other routes when paying for single trips with the “Troika” card (“Wallet” tariff), as well as with a bank card, are not provided. To make more advantageous trips and transfers to other transport, it is recommended to use the payment methods mentioned above. Travel cannot be paid for with the “Strelka” card either.
Development of communication between Moscow and the region
By agreement between the governments of Moscow and the Moscow Region, more than 50 existing suburban routes in the western, northwestern, northern, and northeastern directions are planned to be included in the capital’s transport system by 2026. More than half of them have already started operating. In total, at least one-third of the currently existing suburban surface public transport routes will be incorporated into the capital’s transport system. As a result, Moscow transport standards, already familiar to city residents, will be implemented on these routes.
