Beijing, September 15 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese armed forces are ready to deepen practical cooperation with all parties, respond to challenges in the field of global security, and resolutely safeguard peace and stability worldwide and in various regions. This was stated on Tuesday by China’s Minister of Defense Dong Jun.
Dong Jun made a corresponding statement during meetings with representatives of the defense ministries of Myanmar, Brunei, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, as well as with the Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Kao Kim Hourn, who arrived in Beijing to participate in the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held from September 15 to 17.
The Chinese Minister of Defense welcomed the forum guests, noting that for 20 years since its inception, the forum has adhered to the principles of equality, openness, inclusiveness, and mutual learning, promoting peace and cooperation, bringing wisdom and strength to the overall security of the world.
He stated that against the backdrop of increasing instability and uncertainty in the international situation, the Chinese armed forces are ready to work together with all parties to implement the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives.
This year, the forum’s theme is designated as ‘Building consensus on stability issues, promoting governance in the security field.’ Representatives from nearly 100 countries, regions, and international organizations are participating in the event.
Over two decades, the forum has transformed into an important international public good, providing a space for equal dialogue and joint efforts aimed at achieving peace worldwide. –0–
