A technology entrepreneurship training program has started in 32 Moscow schools. More than a thousand students from 10th-grade engineering, entrepreneurship, and IT classes will participate. High school students will study the specifics of launching technology startups for eight weeks together with experienced businessmen and experts from leading companies, and at the end, they will present their projects.
“Classes are held in schools in an in-person format. Throughout the training, the students will formulate business ideas, build business models, including using IT and AI tools to create project prototypes in teams in one of the following areas: technological urbanism (transportation, housing and utilities, security, accessible environment), health, medicine and ecology, science and education, industry and business services, social and creative technologies. At the end of the course, the students will present their work to the jury,” the capital city’s press service said.
Within the program, schoolchildren work in teams with mentors — experienced tech entrepreneurs and representatives of Sber’s digital technology school “School 21,” who help develop projects and master new tools in practice.
Some of the sessions will take place in the format of business games. For example, in the “Prompt Race,” participants will create a technical assignment using the GigaChat neural network, and in the “Business Model Exchange,” they will defend the business model of their project. In addition, students will be able to take quizzes and solve additional cases, such as analyzing IT products from “Dodo Pizza,” Whoosh, and other brands.
The program will conclude with a project presentation at the largest campus of the “School 21” in “SberCity” at the end of November. Twenty-five finalist teams will defend their work before the company’s experts. Five winners, one from each direction, will receive cash prizes, the opportunity to intern with the course partners, as well as participate in career guidance consultations and personal meetings with specialists.
“Technological entrepreneurship begins with the ability to see the problem and find a way to solve it. In this program, schoolchildren get acquainted with the basics of business and go through the entire process from idea to working prototype: they test hypotheses, learn to work in a team, use modern AI tools, and present the result to experts. One skill here is more important than the others — not to be afraid to try and make mistakes while the cost of error is minimal. This is exactly the first step towards your own projects in the future,” noted Rustam Aynetdinov, director of “School 21.”
The organizers of the program are Department of Education and Science of Moscow, the Institute for the Development of Specialized Education of the Moscow City Pedagogical University and “School 21.”
Pre-professional education is a unique project of Moscow designed to help high school students consciously choose their future profession and their own educational trajectory. Pre-professional classes are open in more than 75 percent of the capital’s schools. More than half of all high school students in the city study in them.
“School 21” offers candidates aged 18 and over who have successfully passed the selection stages the opportunity to acquire in-demand IT skills and a digital profession free of charge. All graduates are successfully employed in the largest Russian IT companies and startups.
