The Autumn GTO Festival will take place on September 19 at the Moskvich sports complex. Everyone over six years old can participate in the tests for the badge of distinction. The festival will also host the superfinal of the summer project “GTO in Moscow,” which will gather the most active participants of the past summer season.

“For several years now, the GTO festival has remained a good sporting tradition. It takes place twice a year — in spring and autumn. Here come both individual participants and whole families to actively spend their day off and try to meet the standards for the distinction badge. The autumn GTO festival is not just a sports day, but a real celebration for adults and children,” noted Alexey Lukyanov, the chief judge of the city events for the GTO complex.

Participants can individually complete a number of GTO standards, including exercises in general physical training: pull-ups, long jump, 16-kilogram kettlebell snatch, forward bend, and others. The program also includes sprints over short and long distances, and for adults and children aged 12 and older — a shooting standard with electronic weapons.

Upon successful completion of the standards, the participant can receive a distinction badge — gold, silver, or bronze. It may provide a number of advantages: it can be considered during admission to certain universities, for awarding specific types of scholarships, and employed citizens, upon meeting established conditions, may be eligible for a tax deduction.

To participate in the trials, you must have sportswear and shoes, an identity document, and a unique accrual identifier — UIN, registered in the GTO subsystem. FGIS “Sport”, as well as the original medical certificate in the form No. 1144-n or 484n.

The best results achieved at the summer venues of the “GTO in Moscow” project at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, Vorobyovy Gory, and Krylatskie Hills Park will allow participants to receive an invitation to the superfinal, which will be held at the autumn GTO festival. As part of the event, guests will have to complete shuttle runs, pass the GTO test complex, and overcome an obstacle course for time. The stadium will feature two parallel courses and 10 different obstacles: “Sunshine,” “Squirrel,” a shovel challenge, a barrier labyrinth with a log, a basketball challenge, “Cards,” a spinner-climbing frame, a climbing wall, “Tanks,” and pipes. Not only finalists but also all who wish will be able to try the obstacle course. Throughout the day, consultations will also be held at the venue for participants on how to meet the GTO complex standards.

The GTO Festival is held twice a year — in spring and autumn. This year’s spring stage brought together more than 1,500 participants. The event is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the GTO complex in Russia and aligns with the objectives of the Russian Federation’s state programs “Development of physical culture and sports” and “Sport of Russia”. One of them is to increase the proportion of citizens who regularly engage in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to solving this task. Special attention is paid to the close location of infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration into the sports community of participants and veterans of the special military operation and members of their families. More about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.

The All-Russian physical culture and sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO) is designed to strengthen citizens’ health and promote an active lifestyle. The program involves passing sports standards. Their list and requirements vary depending on the age and gender of the participant. Successful completion of the tests can earn a badge of distinction. Since 2022, the “GTO in Moscow” project has been operating in the capital. Its regional operator is the State Budgetary Institution “Mosgorsport” of the Moscow Sport Committee. Standards can be taken year-round: for this, eight specialized testing centers and more than 300 city sites are operational. To select the necessary standards for earning the badge of distinction, assistance is available standards calculator.
