To visitors of the park “Zaryadye”, which is subordinated to the capital’s Department of Culture, on October 1, two projects will be presented: exhibition of the nominees of the VII Moscow Art Prize and “Graduating Class of ’26”}]}. “We present three projects and three times in one space. This season, the core cultural initiatives of Zaryadye—the interdisciplinary ‘Issue,’ the annual presentation of nominees for the Moscow Art Prize, the museum of plastic figures ‘Historial. Collection’—have merged into a single exhibition ‘agglomeration.’ Here, one can explore the creative approaches of a new generation of artists, see works by recognized contemporary masters, and recall great figures of Russian history. “Class of ’26”
For the fifth time, the exhibition project supporting young art “Graduation ’26” will open. During its existence, more than a thousand young artists have had the opportunity to present over 1,500 works on the main exhibition platform — ranging from academic painting and sculpture to conceptual installations and new media.
The exhibition annually presents the capital’s universities that train artists and architects. This year, the exhibition will showcase diploma works of graduates from 30 Moscow universities across all artistic specialties. These include painting and graphics, sculpture, architecture, ceramics and glass, photography and installation, scenography, theatrical and film costume, animation and video art, fashion, book illustration, and game design.
This year, the exhibition will also feature compositions by graduates of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, who completed the composition department. Additionally, the Department of Photojournalism and Media Design of the Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University will also participate in the event, which will allow showcasing another important facet of photographic art in the exhibition.
For the third time, a market of young art will be held as part of the parallel program of the exhibition. Since 2024, it has facilitated meetings between young artists and art collectors and the art community. In 2026, the market will take place in a new format — a pop-up gallery operating throughout the exhibition with a rotating exhibition of young artists.
Moscow Art Prize
On October 1, the exhibition of the VII Moscow Art Prize will also open, showcasing the brightest projects created over the past year and a half in Moscow, about Moscow, and for Moscow. The Moscow Art Prize is awarded for contributions to the development of contemporary art by projects that have become a significant phenomenon in the cultural life of the capital over the past year and a half. This year, more than a thousand applications have been submitted for the prize, each meeting one of the criteria: the projects were implemented in the capital, devoted to it, or created by order of city institutions. Applications for the prize were submitted in the categories “Visual Arts and Architecture,” “Music,” “Cinema,” “Theater,” and “Literature.”
The winners of the VII Moscow Art Prize will be determined by an expert council consisting of more than 20 leading specialists from all the represented areas. This includes Ivan Demidov, director of Zaryadye Park; Ivan Lykoshin, director of the Department of Museums and Circus Art Support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation; Olga Galaktionova, director of the State Tretyakov Gallery; Marina Brusnikina, artistic director of the Practice Theatre and artistic director of the Russian Academic Youth Theatre; Olga Sviblova, director of the Multimedia Art Museum; and other specialists.
The prize fund of the award amounts to 33 million rubles. In each category, the first-place winner receives three million rubles, the second-place winner two million, and the third-place winner one million rubles. In addition, a Grand Prix of three million rubles is awarded.
