About 97 thousand families in the capital celebrated moving into new homes since the beginning of implementation renovation programs. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“The renovation program is being successfully implemented in all districts of the capital. More and more Muscovites are receiving apartments with modern improved finishes and moving into new homes without unnecessary hassle or additional costs. Today, about 97,000 families have already moved from old housing stock buildings into new apartments with improved finishes according to the renovation program standards. In particular, in the Eastern Administrative District, 17.9 thousand families celebrated their housewarming. 15.5 thousand families — in the South-Eastern Administrative District, 11.6 thousand families — in the Northern Administrative District, and another 10.9 thousand — in the Western Administrative District,” noted Vladimir Efimov.
Around one million Muscovites will be relocated to modern apartments as part of the renovation program.
Since the city provides apartments with finished renovations, installed plumbing, mounted outlets, and connected lighting fixtures, resettlement participants can move into the new buildings immediately after signing the contracts.
“An important task of the renovation program is not only to provide comfortable housing, but also comprehensive support to residents during the moving stage. In the ‘Help with Moving’ service, you can order movers and transport for transferring belongings from the old apartment to the new one free of charge. More than 70 thousand families have already used it. For example, in the eastern part of the capital, the service was in demand among 13.6 thousand families, in the south-eastern part — almost 12 thousand. Another 10.8 thousand and about 8.4 thousand families submitted requests for the transportation of belongings in the Northern and Western administrative districts, respectively.
