“Yekaterininsky Park is one of the oldest estate parks in the city. The implementation of the project will preserve the historical and cultural heritage of this unique site, while adding modernity and functionality to the area. Upon completion, the park will become a year-round public space, offering opportunities for recreation and sports activities for different generations of the capital’s residents,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The area near the Great Catherine Pond will be transformed. The nearby entrance is being renovated, and an air arch is being created. On either side of it, pavilions of the boat station with a solarium area will be located, as well as a restaurant with a terrace. An amphitheater with a descent to the water will also be made.
According to Petr Biryukov, specialists have already reinforced the shores of the reservoir and restored the historic path along the pond. They are currently tidying up the pavilion-rotunda and the recreational areas, and finishing the repair of the main staircase. In addition, at the site of the old stage, specialists will install a new all-season pavilion for events. A sports pavilion with changing rooms will also be equipped, and the dance veranda restored. The old football field nearby will be replaced with a new one featuring professional turf and heating.
A year-round pavilion will open for adults with children family center, where there will be lectures, film screenings, and master classes. Nearby, a large children’s playground in an eco-style with a variety of equipment will be created. Another play area will be equipped near the planetarium.
After the completion of the landscaping, the park will have venues for events and sports activities accessible to people with disabilities, including tennis courts.
The space in front of the V.S. Saltykov estate building will also be transformed. A picturesque garden for walks and quiet relaxation will be created here. Specialists will renovate the pedestrian paths, rotundas, and rose garden, as well as designate areas for playing chess. At the final stage, greening will be carried out in Ekaterininsky Park: trees and perennials will be planted.
