Since the beginning of the year, district administrations, volunteer organizations of municipal formations, and residents of the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug (NEAO) of Moscow have sent over 120 tons of humanitarian aid to the front line. During this time, activists have made more than 20 trips to the zone of the special military operation (SMO).
From products to special equipment
One of the major associations of the North-Eastern Administrative District is the “SVAO Team.” Activists have been supporting military personnel since the first days of the special military operation. In each of the 17 districts of the district, collection points for humanitarian aid, manufacture of camouflage nets, and other essential items have been organized. More than 500 people work in them on a permanent basis.
The head of the association, Yana Vorobyova, notes that the “SVAO Team” forms and sends at least three humanitarian convoys to the front line every month. Activists fulfill specific requests from soldiers, military units, and hospitals, collecting items for residents of frontline areas, orphanages, hospitals, and schools.
Since January, the “SVAO Team” has sent over 7.5 tons of drinking water and 20 tons of food products to the special military operation zone, dozens of generators, hundreds of anti-drone blankets, gas cylinders, stretchers, and more than 700 camouflage nets. With funds donated by district residents, a quad bike and two motorcycles, vehicles — a UAZ and “Niva”, as well as 14 drones, an antenna for satellite internet connection, and other equipment and components were purchased.
From anti-thermal-vision ponchos to building materials
In Otradnoye, every week the volunteer organizations “Strela dobra,” “Dobromamy,” and “Soups Otradnoye,” together with the district administration and supported by the “People’s Aid” and “A Piece of Warmth” funds, send an average of more than a ton of humanitarian aid to the front. The convoys include camouflage nets, medicines, homemade preserves, fuel and lubricants, FPV drones, construction materials, and much more.
In Marfino, the municipal district administration, together with the volunteer group “Heart of Marfino,” sends parcels to the Kursk region, as well as to territories in the Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv directions. Activists manufacture camouflage nets, ghillie suits, anti-drone curtains, trench candles, and anti-thermal imaging ponchos. In addition, they supply components for quadcopters and construction materials to the front line. Staff and wards of the subordinate children’s rehabilitation center in the village of Mirnoye, Zaporizhzhia region, regularly receive clothes, shoes, toys, and stationery.
In Rostokino, aid is being collected by the team “Rear Workers of Rostokino” under the supervision of the council of municipal deputies. The organization cooperates with the social support fund “Custodianship and Care” of the city of Taganrog and public figures from the council of families of the Otradnoye district. Volunteers assist fighters on the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Konstantinivka fronts.
On average, each volunteer center in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug forms humanitarian convoys three to four times per quarter. The volume of cargo is 15–20 tons. The main contents include camouflage nets, trench candles, electronics, building materials, and medical supplies. Often, upon request, they also include clothing, food products, and other items.
