At the Repair and Tool Factory of KAMAZ, training was held for the workforce on defect-free production.
Such training at the auto giant is organized for two categories of employees: those who have just joined the staff and those who have moved from one position to another. In the Kaizen class at RIZ, eight factory workers mastered the program “Defect-free production through the ‘3 DON’Ts’ principle: compliance issues and ways to solve them.” Among them were a fitter-toolmaker, a turner, an electric gas welder, a grinder, and representatives of other professions.
The training session was conducted by Tatiana Bobonazarova, chair of the KAMAZ Masters Council. In the theoretical part, the workers were told what built-in quality is, how to identify defective products, and what to do if they find them. “What are the ‘3 DON’Ts’? Don’t accept defects, don’t make defects, and don’t pass on defects,” explained Tatiana Bobonazarova. “The main point I strive to convey to the staff in such sessions is that any defect is a risk. Do your work without defects at your stage of the production chain and be confident in the final product. Don’t risk your reputation: both as a professional and for the company as a whole.”
As part of the practical training, participants learned to prevent potential defects in their work. The program concluded with a pass/fail assessment.
