Kekusheva — one of the brightest examples of Moscow Art Nouveau and a probable prototype of Margarita’s house from Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel. On Prechistenskaya Embankment are the buildings of the embassies of the Republics of Madagascar and South Ossetia, as well as an income house belonging to Z.A. Pertsova, resembling a fairy-tale terem, built in the Neo-Russian style with elements of Art Nouveau. Its gables are decorated with mosaic patterns featuring dragons, fish, animals, and plants. The Patriarch’s Bridge itself connects Yakimanskaya Embankment with Prechistenskaya and is one of the popular spots for walks and photo sessions. To its left are the patriarchal compound and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior — the largest Orthodox cathedral in Russia.
Along the Kremlin and Moskvoretskaya embankments, bypassing the capital’s grand landmarks, pedestrians will reach Zaryadye Park. After resting and having a snack in one of the cafes, you can explore the pavilions, the Old English Court with chambers, the concert hall, and the natural zones where plants from various regions of Russia are planted — from the tundra to the southern steppes and the Crimean mountains.
