From September 4 to 30, an ecological educational festival will be held in the capital “Bloom, Moscow!”. A large-scale event dedicated to City Day will open up the world of meadow ecosystems and seasonal changes in the nature of the metropolis.
The festival is organized by the capital Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
“The ‘Bloom, Moscow!’ Festival is not just a bright event, but a continuation of our systematic work on environmental education. We have prepared the program so that everyone — from a child to a retiree — not only learns something new, but also sees Moscow nature with their own eyes, hears from experts, asks questions. And, I hope, truly falls in love with it,” noted Elena Zharkova, Head of the Department of Environmental Education and Awareness of the Moscow Department of Natural Resource Management and Environmental Protection.
The events will take place at the city’s leading natural and cultural venues: the Botanical Garden of Lomonosov Moscow State University “Aptekarsky Ogorod,” Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure, the N.V. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as at eco-centers of the city Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, general education institutions, and other partner venues.
The festival will become a true guide to the biodiversity of the capital. Visitors will learn why clover is called the best honey plant, what role the dragonfly plays in the ecosystem, and where in Moscow one can encounter the rare brown hare. The program is based on unique materials about plants and animals.
Exhibitions will be held at central venues, and on the website mosecopros.ru They will open a digital photo exhibition and an online quiz “Bloom, Moscow!” Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, experts will conduct group tours adapted for schoolchildren, families, and adults. In addition, guests can enjoy audio tours in Gorky Park, lectures by leading ecologists and biologists in eco-centers, as well as themed activities for children and adults at all participating venues.
The festival opening will take place at the Aptekarsky Ogorod Botanical Garden on September 4 at 15:00 as part of the final week “Summer in Moscow”.

“Summer in Moscow” — the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the capital’s life.
