Two school buildings were constructed in the North-Western Administrative Okrug using funds from the city budget. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
“School buildings are constructed annually in various districts of Moscow under the Targeted Investment Program. In August 2026, two school buildings with a total area of 13.6 thousand square meters were completed in the northwest of the capital at the expense of the city budget. These facilities appeared in the Kurkino and Khoroshevo-Mnevniki districts. They are equipped with everything necessary for comfortable learning, creativity, and recreation. The modern buildings include sports halls, laboratory and research complexes, IT training grounds, versatile classrooms, and other spaces,” said Vladimir Efimov.
In Kurkino, an educational building was constructed at the address: 2a Sokolovo-Mescherskaya Street. The building, with an area of almost 6,100 square meters, includes educational and public spaces. Among them are an IT playground, a media library, a laboratory and research complex, general-purpose and specialized classrooms, a multifunctional area, as well as sports and medical blocks.
“The construction of another school has been completed in Khoroshevo-Mnevniki. The facade cladding uses porcelain stoneware tiles, clinker panels with a travertine texture, and glass fiber reinforced concrete slabs, which allow the building to blend organically into the surrounding district development. In the building, covering more than 7,500 square meters and built according to an individual project, universal and specialized classrooms, laboratory and research complexes, recreational areas, an IT polygon, and a media library—a modern information center for students’ independent work—have been equipped. The focal point here will be a large hall for events, concerts, and meetings,” said the head of the Moscow City Department of Civil Construction.
Construction was supervised by Mosgosstroynadzor. Its chairman Anton Slobodchikov noted that inspectors conducted 18 field inspections, and specialists from “Control Moscow” provided developers with consultative support — this helped to avoid possible violations. Based on the results of the control and supervisory activities, conclusions were drawn regarding the compliance of buildings with the requirements of the design documentation.
The area around educational facilities has been improved. Specialists laid lawns, planted shrubs, installed fences and small architectural forms, and equipped sports grounds. For safety, modern video surveillance systems have been provided both inside the building and on the territory.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin stated that on Sokolovo-Meshcherskaya Street, within the framework of the Targeted Investment Program, a construction was carried out new educational building school No. 2005.
