Consumer activity in July–August continued to increase at a moderate pace in most macro-regions. In July, sales of passenger cars, household appliances, furniture, and related home improvement goods grew. At the same time, tourist flow across Russia decreased, and the growth of demand in the paid services segment slowed down.
Production output in a number of industrial sectors increased. Car manufacturing in the Central and Volga-Vyatka macro-regions exceeded the levels of the beginning of the year. Coal mining increased in Siberia. At the same time, cargo handling decreased in the Far Eastern, Northwestern, and Southern ports. In the Urals, oil and gas raw material extraction continued to decline in July–August.
