Shenzhen, September 1 /Xinhua/ — In the first half of 2026, the revenue from operations of the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei reached nearly 467.82 billion yuan (about 69.6 billion USD), which is 9.55% higher than the same period last year. This was stated in the company’s semi-annual report published on Monday.
From January to June of this year, the company’s expenses on research and development (R&D) rose to 121.38 billion yuan, reaching a new historical high. In particular, R&D expenses increased by 25.2 percent year-on-year, accounting for 25.94 percent of total revenue.
In a separate statement published earlier, Huawei announced that it will continue to increase investment in R&D in key strategic areas, including communications, computing, cloud technologies, terminals, intelligent driving, and artificial intelligence (AI). The company pledged to integrate AI capabilities and security tools into every product and network to enhance its core competitiveness.
