Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak visited the Moscow Power Engineering Institute on Knowledge Day.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the students, postgraduates, and the university staff on the beginning of the new academic year.

“I am glad that you have chosen a profession in the field of energy. You will have to solve complex challenges of new technological development and the technological sovereignty of our country. The Moscow Power Engineering Institute possesses all the necessary skills, competencies, an excellent faculty, and, of course, the material and technical base that allows acquiring the required knowledge and skills, as well as engaging in fundamental and applied science. This is also because all major companies working in the energy sector closely collaborate with MPEI today,” noted Alexander Novak, addressing the freshmen at the ceremonial assembly.

Also, during his visit to MPEI, the Deputy Prime Minister took part in the ceremonial opening of the honorary badge of the Russian Federation “For Success in Labor” on the facade of the administrative building of MPEI, which is awarded to organizational teams for high merits to the state. He also viewed the exhibition “The Art of Science,” a project of the MPEI student scientific society, and visited the thematic zone “MPEI University – Hainan.”

Alexander Novak took part in the opening of the specialized educational space “Climate Technology,” which consists of a training and research laboratory and a classroom. The complex is designed to train students in working with equipment for ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, as well as to conduct scientific research in the field of heat exchange equipment for climate technology.

“The opening of the educational space ‘Climate Engineering’ is an important event for the development of the human resources potential of the domestic energy and engineering sector. The joint work of MEI and business clearly demonstrates an effective format of interaction between science, education, and the real economy sector: students get access to advanced equipment and can master technologies demanded at enterprises across the country. I am confident that this platform will become a significant contribution to the training of specialists ensuring technological resilience and infrastructure development in Russia,” noted Alexander Novak.
