Moscow schoolchildren won five medals at the International Junior Geography Olympiad in Belgrade. Sergey Sobyanin announced this on his channel in in the “Max” messenger.
The Russian national team consisted of six people, five of whom were Muscovites. Georgy Oshkin, a ninth-grader from School No. 444; Timofey Lebedev, a tenth-grader from the Center for Pedagogical Excellence; and Evgenia Lichkovakha, a ninth-grader from the National Research University Higher School of Economics Lyceum, won gold medals; Matvey Sokolov, a ninth-grader from School No. 179, won silver; and Mikhail Gorbenko, an eighth-grader from School No. 58, won bronze.
“Congratulations to the guys on their medals! I wish them new victories. All five have experience participating in Russian geography competitions. In the 2025–2026 academic year, Mikhail Gorbenko became the winner, and Evgenia Lichkovakha, Timofey Lebedev, Matvey Sokolov, and Georgy Oshkin were prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren’s Olympiad in geography,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.
