Asphalt renewed on four sections of the Kremlin Ring

Specialists urban economy complex Updated the asphalt on four sections of the Kremlin Ring. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement. Petr Biryukov.

“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in a normative condition. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, works were completed on the Kremlin Ring — the Moskvoretskaya Embankment, New, Old, and Slavyanskaya Squares were repaired. In total, approximately 50 thousand square meters of pavement were replaced,” noted Petr Biryukov.

Previous road repair work was carried out here in 2022, and the warranty period for the pavement is three years.

One of the reasons for the repairs is the formation of ruts due to heavy vehicle traffic. It causes discomfort for drivers and can negatively affect safety. Therefore, specialists regularly check the condition of the highway surface, monitor the expiration of the warranty period, and carry out replacements in a timely manner. The main volume of work is performed at night, when traffic load decreases.

Asphalt resurfacing is carried out in several stages. First, the existing surface is milled, then inspection wells and storm drain grates are repaired. After that, new asphalt is laid, and at the final stage, road markings are applied.

When laying asphalt on the street and road network, modern technologies and asphalt concrete mixtures produced at city-owned plants are used.
