Tatiana Golikova and Sergey Sobyanin opened new filming locations at the “Moskino” film park

On Russian Cinema Day, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin opened new filming locations at the “Moskino” film park and also spoke with film industry professionals working on the shooting sites.

“It is important that the audience for Russian cinema is growing. Over the past three years, the share of viewers watching Russian films has increased to 79%. This year, 66 million people have already come to the cinemas, and over three years the audience for domestic films has amounted to about 100 million viewers annually. We are growing because our colleagues produce quality products, including thanks to the infrastructure on which we are currently located. We see that this is a huge ecosystem that encompasses medieval towns, modern Moscow, eastern bazaars, and military facilities. Everything is presented here that enables affordable and high-quality Russian film production, inviting our guests from abroad. And most importantly – creating new jobs, tourist spaces, spaces for children and families,” emphasized Tatyana Golikova.

She noted that the development of national cinema is one of the priority areas of state policy, therefore the Government of Russia systematically provides support to the industry with the help of the Cinema Fund, the Internet Development Institute, and the Ministry of Culture. In 2025, the amount of funding for the production of films and series amounted to 27 billion rubles.

“The world’s largest film set – the MosKino film park – continues to actively develop. This year alone, 111 different projects have been filmed here, and in total, over 260 different movies and TV series have been shot at the film park. We are also actively expanding MosKino’s infrastructure. To date, there are already 74 outdoor and interior sets and 8 shooting pavilions in operation. Today, the MosKino film park is no longer just a local city story. Gradually, it is becoming a nationwide and international filming center. Thanks to MosKino, our cinema is finding its audience far beyond Russia,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.

The general director of the film concern Mosfilm, Karen Shakhnazarov (“Joseph Stalin. The Moment of Truth”), Konstantin Ernst (“Lilya”, “Beirut”), production designer Maria Turskaya (“Queen Anna”), Danila Sharapov (“The Five”), Fyodor Bondarchuk (“Hard to Be a God”), Sergey Zhigunov (“Breed”), Evgeny Mironov (“Arsenyev”), Igor Ugolnikov (“The Banner of Victory”), as well as Dmitry Kiselyov (“Russian Troika”) spoke about their projects.

The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin, told the guests about how he advised the film crew of the project “Poroda,” which was shot at the locations of the MosKino film park. The series tells the true story of a Ukrainian family from Yuzovka (now Donetsk) from 1918 to 2014.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, shared his impressions of the locations in the film park where the joint Chinese-Russian film “Black Silk” was shot.

The largest media groups in Russia are implementing their projects in the film park: Channel One, NMG, Gazprom-Media Holding, USM Holdings, Sber, the Russia TV channel, NTV, REN TV, online platforms and online cinemas Okko, Wink, START, KION.

Among the works whose filming took place in 2026 are such films and series as “According to the Laws of Wartime,” “Mosgaz,” “SMERSH-5,” “Hard to Be a God,” “The Joker U,” “Storm,” and “Yugoslavia.”

Over the past two years, the MosKino film park has become one of the central locations for shooting patriotic and historical projects. Six projects dedicated to the Special Military Operation have been filmed at the film park. Primarily, these include the feature film “Aldan,” which was released in theaters in 2025, and the popular TV series “20/22” and “Lilies of the Valley. The Second Spring.”

Also, since the beginning of 2026, more than 20 films dedicated to the history of Russia and the preservation of memory about the Great Patriotic War have been filmed here.

The MosKino film park allows filmmakers to showcase regions of Russia, including their historical locations that no longer exist on city maps. For example, the series “Arseniev,” filmed on the location set “Port City,” is dedicated to the history of Vladivostok at the beginning of the 20th century, while the film “Zheltuga,” shot there as well, depicts events from the late 19th century in the Amur region. At the same time, filming in the film park does not cancel the work of film crews in the region itself—on-location shoots were conducted in Vladivostok, including at Tobizin Cape, and the aforementioned film “Aldan” was shot directly in Yakutia.

A number of projects were dedicated to modern Russia and new regions.

The MosKino film park is also popular with foreign productions. This year alone, the location has been visited by 7 foreign delegations and three films have been shot there – “Black Silk” (in collaboration with China), “Jusup” (in collaboration with Kyrgyzstan), and “Smash” (in collaboration with India). Filming is expected to commence by the end of the year on a joint project with Uzbekistan dedicated to the Battle of Moscow.

In addition to infrastructure for film production, the film park offers comfortable conditions for tourists and visitors: restaurants, festival venues. Starting from the summer season of 2026, it is open to everyone.
