The restoration of the facades of the main entrance arch to Gorky Park, located on Krymsky Val Street (building 9, structures 1, 2, 9, and 11), is nearing completion. This is a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
The previous restoration here was carried out more than 10 years ago. Currently, the façades and the roof are being renovated. Specialists have cleaned and completed the white stone surfaces, plastered and painted the façades in their original color, as well as refurbished the roof, arch gates, and decorative elements located on the parapet.
The restorers have already dismantled the scaffolding. All that remains is to install the recreated and restored doors and railings, mount the floor covering of the observation deck, as well as the architectural and artistic lighting, which will significantly enhance the visual perception of the arch in the evening and at night. The transformed architectural monument will once again adorn the main entrance to the Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after Maxim Gorky.
By the end of this year, specialists will also restore the fence, the upper part of the span sections of which is decorated with a garland frieze, and the columns are crowned with stylized antique amphora vases.
All work is carried out based on approved design documentation, issued permits, and under supervision Mosgornasledie.
In 2026, works are being carried out in Gorky Park as part of the third stage of the rehabilitation and development of the territories. The improvement area includes the space near the main entrance arch, Lenin and Fountain squares, as well as the sports zone.
In September, the landscaping work is planned to be completed on the square in front of the main entrance to Gorky Park. For the convenience of visitors, special passages will be made to the public transport stops and to the underground passage towards the Muzeon Arts Park.
The premises inside the arch — museum, information center, music salon, and souvenir shop — are temporarily closed to visitors. While work is ongoing, the park can be accessed through the nearest entrance from the “Oktyabrskaya” metro station, located by the Pioneer Pond, and the shortest route to Pushkinskaya Embankment is from the “Park Kultury” metro station.
