In September, the collection of the “Gifts” section on the platform “Moscow Electronic School” (“MESH”) will be supplemented with 11 virtual prizes. They were created based on the works of students — winners of the drawing and animation contest “Dream Gift in MESH.” The authors of the best projects will receive 10 thousand virtual stars each, which they can use to purchase from 100 to 500 prizes for themselves or friends in “MESH.” This was reported by the press service of the capital Department of Education and Science.
“More than 10,500 kids participated in the contest. They submitted nearly 30,000 design layouts in the form of computer graphics and animated images. The most active participants were fifth graders — they sent in almost 2,700 works, as well as third and fourth graders — the students sent two thousand layouts each,” the agency’s press service noted.
The jury evaluated the originality of the idea, quality of execution, and feasibility of technical implementation. 273 projects made it to the competition shortlist, and at the final stage, experts selected 11 — one from each grade level. The students depicted a cat — a conqueror of the peaks of knowledge, a cactus, a capybara in a bathtub, a hyacinth bulb, a robot, a dragon, a goose, an owl, aliens stealing a cow, an electric guitar, and a Pallas’s cat.
Experts also noted 22 creative works, whose authors will receive encouragement prizes — five thousand virtual stars each.
Digital gifts in “MESH” have been available to students in grades 5-11 since November 2025, and to children in grades 1–4 since January of this year. They can be collected or sent to friends, including anonymously. Currently, the system offers eight gifts: a pink basketball (costing 20 stars), a soccer ball (25 stars), a gamepad (25 stars), a bouquet (25 stars), a cold rose (30 stars), a teddy bear with a heart (50 stars), a pencil-lightbulb (50 stars), and perfume (100 stars).
You can earn virtual currency in the form of stars by completing daily tasks, as well as participating in tournaments and marathons. In marathons, students solve a series of problems against the clock, while in tournaments they compete in leagues. Winners can receive up to a thousand stars. Since the launch of the service, the students have earned more than 83 million stars in total.
All acquired and sent virtual gifts are stored in the “Profile” tab. There, you can also track the history of collection replenishment or prize sending. The star balance is displayed in all sections of the service.
“Moscow Electronic School” – a joint project of the capital’s Department of Education and Science and Department of Information Technology. It has been operating since 2016. Today, the unified digital educational platform is used by more than 1.2 million schoolchildren, over 1.8 million parents, and about 70 thousand teachers. Among the main services of “MESH” are a library of educational materials, electronic diary and journal, “Moskvyonok,” “Student Portfolio,” and the “Olympiads” service.
