The final of the All-Russian Championship in professional skills “Professionals” took place in Kaluga from August 21 to 26. Students from Moscow colleges won nine medals, including seven gold and two silver. In total, the capital’s team competed in 12 out of 14 competencies. This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
“In the capital, we are consistently developing the system of secondary vocational education and preparing specialists for specific tasks in the real sector of the economy. Our students acquire relevant skills in modern workshops, laboratories, and training grounds, and intern at leading companies and enterprises in the city. Thanks in part to this, they achieve success in various competitions. One of the latest examples is the performance of the guys from Moscow at the All-Russian “Professionals” championship. The capital team demonstrated a high level of training, winning nine medals. The skills of the participants were evaluated by more than 260 independent experts — practicing engineers and technologists from across Russia. This once again confirms that the quality of practical training in capital colleges meets the demands of leading industrial enterprises,” noted Anastasia Rakova.
The capital was represented at the competition by 12 students from first to fourth year from seven colleges. Among them were the Moscow Industrial College, the Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Automation and Information Technology College No. 20, N.N. Godovikov Polytechnic College, P.M. Vostrukhin Communication College No. 54, the Moscow State Educational Complex, as well as Small Business College No. 4. All members of the Moscow team are winners and prize-winners of the city and interregional championship stages.
Thus, Anastasia Tarasova, a third-year student at the Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning, became the best in additive manufacturing. The young woman won a gold medal and proved her professional level in four categories at once: basic, industrial, international, and team competitions. She presented the jury with a comprehensive project — a prototype of a seeding device for row crops. This was a real task for participants from the company LLC “Yugselmash.” To create the device, the student utilized the entire arsenal of technologies she studied at the college: from 5D printing and CNC machining to precise casting of parts from rubber and casting plastic.
“The future lies in additive technologies, and I am very lucky to be learning this right now, in college. I am very happy about the victory, but most importantly, I realized that I can bring real value to actual industry. The prototype device we created as part of the assignment could be useful for saving expensive seeds and helping people harvest more crops. If you sow by eye, a lot of seeds fall too densely, but such a device places each seed precisely in its place. As a result, the harvest is bountiful, and people don’t have to do heavy manual work in the field,” said Anastasia Tarasova.
In the final stage of the competition, the participants competed in competencies such as the manufacturing of custom implants, prototype creation (additive manufacturing), space systems engineering, mechatronics, optoelectronics, design and manufacturing of prosthetics and orthotics, industrial robotics, industrial design, drone repair, welding technologies, electrical installation, and fashion technologies.
More than 200 contestants participated in the final of the industrial skills championship. Among them were students and young professionals from the relevant industry across regions of Russia, as well as representatives from 30 friendly countries, including Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, and India. Representatives of these three groups competed in different categories.
Earlier, college students from Moscow successfully competed in the first stage of the final competitions of the “Professionals” championship, which took place in May in Nizhny Novgorod. At that time, the participants demonstrated their competencies in the fields of IT and creative industries. The capital’s team won five gold and two bronze medals. Now the team is preparing for the third final, which will conclude the championship cycle of 2026. It will be held in November in Saint Petersburg. The participants will showcase competencies in the fields of education, service, production, medicine, construction, and engineering technologies.
The “Professionals” Championship is the largest event in the system of secondary vocational education. The list of competencies is formed in accordance with the demands of the real economy sector.
Winners and prize-winners of the finals, as well as their mentors, will receive awards established by the Government of the Russian Federation — from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles depending on the place occupied. More than 10,000 companies and enterprises support the championship movement “Professionals.” This year they have already offered contestants over 50,000 internships and job openings.
The “Professionals” movement is aimed at supporting talented youth, strengthening the personnel potential, and ensuring the country’s technological leadership. It is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia and is implemented within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism” under the national project “Youth and Children.” The federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
