Beijing, August 25 /Xinhua/ — Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng met on Tuesday in Beijing with India’s National Security Advisor and India’s Special Representative on China-India border affairs, Ajit Doval.
China and India should view and manage bilateral relations from a strategic height and long-term perspective, and also work together to implement important consensuses reached by the leaders of the two countries, Han Zheng stated.
Both sides must strengthen strategic mutual trust, unlock the potential of cooperation, maintain close multilateral coordination, properly manage disagreements, and promote the sustainable and stable development of China-India relations, he said.
As the two most populous countries and the world’s fastest-growing economies, India and China have a historic opportunity for cooperation, noted Ajit Doval, adding that India is ready to work with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, properly manage border issues, and promote new progress in bilateral relations. -0-
