Employees of the Scientific and Technical Center of KAMAZ participated in the 5th Corporate Professional Skills Championship of the Rostec State Corporation “Time of the Firsts.” The competition took place in Moscow, bringing together more than 5,500 participants from 67 cities across the country.
The goal of the championship is to popularize engineering specialties and enhance their prestige among young professionals, identify the best in their fields, and facilitate the exchange of experience. This year, the event, which marked an anniversary, brought together employees of industrial enterprises from 45 regions of Russia. They competed for the title of the best in 29 competencies.
One of the experts of “Time of the First” was Rinat Vasimov, the chief specialist in three-dimensional design and the head of the design processes group of digital design at KAMAZ. He evaluated the contestants’ works in the “Prototype Manufacturing” category. In the same category, another KAMAZ employee, Ignat Aglyamov, an engineer-designer from the chassis units design department of the Research and Technology Center, also participated as a contestant.
Over the course of three days (a total working time of 20 hours), he completed a practical task. It included six modules, during which he had to design and assemble an electric portable winch. All the necessary parts for assembling the prototype were manufactured by the contestants using digital manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Creating 3D models of the product parts, developing design changes, preparing documentation, performing painting and design of the prototype, and making it operational and functional — this is just a small part of what Ignat Aglyamov worked on during the three days of the competition.
As a result, by the number of points scored, the Kamaz driver won the “silver” of the championship. He was awarded the title of a high-level professional. “I learned about the championship from my colleague Stanislav Kostin, who has repeatedly become its winner and prize-winner. He advised me to participate in it, and I agreed. I thought it was a good opportunity to show my experience and knowledge, to grow in some way,” said Ignat Aglyamov. “I was satisfied with my result at the championship. To be honest, I didn’t have big plans, because this was my first experience participating in such a competition. It was important not only to make a quality prototype of the winch but also to fit into the strictly allotted working time. I’m very glad that I returned from Moscow with the ‘silver.’ If possible, I will gladly participate in the championship next year.”
“I rate Ignat’s work as five plus. For a specialist who went to such a competition for the first time, this is a worthy result,” noted Rinat Vasimov in turn. “I have been participating as an expert in this contest since 2017. I would like to point out that the Kamaz team always demonstrates a high level of preparation. For me, participating in the championship as an expert is primarily an opportunity to communicate with colleagues, learn more about other software products, and bring something new to the work of the auto giant.
