About 550 residents began a phased inspection of apartments in the residential complex at renovation program in the Kapotnya area in the southeast of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“The new building is located at: 2nd quarter of Kapotnya, house 21. Almost 550 residents from four old buildings on 1st quarter Kapotnya street and 2nd quarter Kapotnya will move there. In the residential complex, built according to modern safety and quality standards, apartments have improved layouts — with wide corridors and spacious kitchens. In the yard for the new settlers, two children’s playgrounds and one sports ground are equipped, and a recreation area is arranged. A total of 28 buildings in Kapotnya are included in the current renovation program, with approximately more than five thousand people planned to be relocated,” said Vladimir Efimov.
On the first floor of the residential complex, an information center has been opened. The first floors were originally designed as non-residential; social and household infrastructure facilities will be located here,” clarified the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Urban Policy.

Ekaterina Solovyova, the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of City Property, noted that about 260 Muscovites who received offers from the city for apartments in building 21 in the 2nd quarter of Kapotnya started inspecting the housing from August 17. She added that nearly 290 more people began choosing apartments a week later. The phased organized relocation, along with prior registration to visit the information center, will help avoid queues when signing contracts and make the document processing more comfortable for the city residents.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It affects about one million Muscovites and involves the resettlement of 5,176 buildings. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin ordered to double program implementation rates. The Mayor of Moscow noted that for the first seven months of 2026 734 thousand square meters of housing were put into operation as part of the renovation. This is a record figure in the nine years of the program’s operation.
