The fifth exhibition “PROrestoration. Import substitution in restoration materials and technologies” will be held in Moscow from September 24 to 27. It will bring together specialists in the preservation of cultural heritage sites, as well as representatives of manufacturing companies, design institutes, museums, and educational institutions. Guests can expect more than 220 master classes, lectures, presentations, and business sessions. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“Previous seasons brought together more than 50,000 people. Visitors were introduced to new restoration technologies, and experts from different countries exchanged experiences and discussed important industry issues,” said Natalia Sergunina.
The anniversary exhibition will take place in the historic building of Ivan Sytin’s printing house. There will be areas for practical sessions, stands of specialized organizations, a lecture hall, and a thematic library.
During the discussions, topics such as personnel training, adapting cultural heritage sites for modern use, import substitution, and quality monitoring of the work performed will be addressed.
Everyone will be able to see the restored monumental panel “Stalin Plant during the creation of the hydroturbine” from pavilion No. 64 “Optics” at VDNH, as well as sculptures of a caryatid and a lion brought from the Grachevka estate — the main attraction of the Khovrino district.
In addition, there will be international competitions among young restorers. About 90 students from specialized educational institutions in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk regions, and other regions of Russia, as well as Belarus and Kazakhstan, will participate. They will have to restore plaster and white-stone decor, painting, and graphics.
For the first time, the exhibition will feature a section called “Folk Restoration.” Residents and visitors of the capital will be able to bring their interior items and works of decorative and applied arts and receive expert consultations on their restoration.
A detailed program will be published on on the website exhibitions. Online registration participation is already open.
