Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the Acting Head of the Udmurt Republic Olga Abramova, during which issues of the socio-economic development of the region were discussed.
“The Udmurt Republic continues to develop steadily. 25 settlements have been included in the list of key ones. More than 1.1 million people live in them – that is 75% of the region’s population. Comprehensive work will significantly improve the quality of life of citizens. I want to note the republic’s decent performance in road activities. The share of federal highways meeting regulatory requirements is 83.9%, and the key road network has been brought up to standard at 87.7%. Much work still lies ahead, and we discussed which areas need improvement,” reported Marat Khusnullin.
The parties also reviewed the progress of the improvement of the Architect Dudin embankment in Izhevsk. The Acting Head of Udmurtia reported on the current readiness of the facility and thanked the department for its assistance.
“Dudin Embankment is the heart of Izhevsk and a beloved place of rest for the townspeople. Today, the readiness is 92%, the main structures have been completed, and we plan to open it in autumn. Furthermore, we are already designing the next two phases so that the embankment develops comprehensively. Overall, within the framework of the national project ‘Infrastructure for Life,’ 71 public spaces are being improved in the region today. We have also started implementing a project in Kambarka that won the All-Russian competition for creating a comfortable urban environment. It is extremely important for us to see how familiar places are transformed. Such spaces give families the opportunity to spend time together, and young people the incentive to stay where it is comfortable to live and build a career. We have big plans for the further development of public spaces in the republic, and we count on the continuation of joint work and support from the federal center,” noted Olga Abramova.
Systematic work is also being carried out to modernize the housing and communal services sector. For example, three projects to upgrade heating, water supply, and drainage systems in Izhevsk have been implemented using funds from the National Wealth Fund.
In addition, in 2025, 93 buses were delivered to the region under the preferential leasing program. A direct subsidy for the acquisition of another 50 buses has been approved for 2026.
