First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov held a meeting on the development of engineering for food and processing industries. Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economic Development, and key industry organizations participated in the event.

The participants of the meeting discussed the current situation and prospects for the development of the industry. Special attention was paid to measures to stimulate demand for domestic equipment, as well as the implementation of key investment projects aimed at increasing the share of Russian equipment and further deepening the level of product localization.

Work is being carried out within the framework of the federal project “Technical and technological independence of agriculture, food, and processing industries,” which is part of the national project “Technological support for food security.” According to the established target indicators, by 2030 the share of domestic equipment in the food equipment segment should reach about 62%.

Thanks to the current government support measures, large-scale work on import substitution continues in the industry. In recent years, domestic manufacturers have significantly expanded the range of products produced, mastering serial production of a wide range of equipment that was previously mostly imported. In some segments, they are able to almost fully meet domestic demand. In particular, this concerns equipment for the grain sector, the baking industry, and catering enterprises. At the same time, the priority task remains the accelerated development of equipment production for the meat, fish, dairy, and fruit and vegetable industries.

Work continues on expanding the list of Russian high-tech equipment. The need to include as much food industry equipment as possible has been noted. This step will allow its buyers to benefit from an additional tax preference.
