In July 2026, a corresponding member of RAASN, professor Rashid Mangushev participated in the international conference “Intelligence for Disaster Prevention in Subsurface Development” (SCEICS-2026) and in the joint summer school on geotechnics and underground construction. The events were held at Northeastern University of the People’s Republic of China (Shenyang city).

At the plenary session of the conference, Rashid Abdulovich delivered a keynote speech on the topic “Foundations of unique buildings in Saint Petersburg.” As part of the summer scientific school, the professor gave a lecture titled “Features of the construction of the Saint Petersburg city flood protection complex.”
At the conference, Professor R. A. Mangushev became a member of the Academic Committee of the International Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Construction of Underground Structures and Disaster Prevention (IJLSUE).
At the end of the program, the scientists visited the research laboratory of the Department of Geotechnics and Underground Construction at Northeast University, headed by Professor Zhao Wen. Here, colleagues from Russia and Uzbekistan became acquainted with the main directions of rock research using devices designed and manufactured at the Northeastern University. They also studied the modeling of tunnel operation in China’s soil conditions using a 3D printer and the investigation of the impact of seismic processes on embankments and structures.

It is noteworthy that Professor Zhao Wen, PhD, of Shenyang Northeast University – a graduate of the postgraduate program of the Department of Geotechnics at SPbGASU (academic supervisor – Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor A. B. Fadeev) – plays an active role in developing scientific and educational ties between our universities.
