Hangzhou, August 9 /Xinhua/ — Typhoon “Dolphin,” the 13th typhoon of this year, made landfall for the second time around 18:40 local time on Sunday in Zhejiang Province (East China), hitting the coast of Yueqing county in the prefecture-level city of Wenzhou. This was reported by the National Meteorological Center (NMC) of China.
The maximum wind force near the center of the typhoon reached 13 points /38 m/s/.
Typhoon “Dolphin” made landfall for the first time in Zhejiang Province on Sunday around 17:30, covering the coast of Yuhuan county in Taizhou city. The maximum wind strength near its center at that time was 14 points.
Due to the typhoon, 388 arriving and departing flights scheduled for August 9th were canceled at Xiaoshan International Airport in Hangzhou, the administrative center of Zhejiang Province.
The National Meteorological Center warned local authorities in the areas affected by the disaster about the need to take measures to protect against extremely intense downpours.
