Bishkek, July 28 /Xinhua/ — Since its founding, the Communist Party of China /CPC/ has possessed admirable qualities such as self-discipline, self-improvement, and self-purification, which have become key reasons for its success. This was stated in an interview with Xinhua by political scientist Sheradil Baktygulov, director of the Kyrgyz Institute of World Politics.
This year marks the 105th anniversary of the CPC. According to Sh. Baktygulov, during this period China has transformed from a poor and weak country into a power with a strong economy and advanced technologies, where a population of over 1.4 billion people lives in peace and tranquility. “These outstanding achievements have become possible thanks to the diligence of the Chinese people, the unlimited potential of the country, and the wise leadership of the CPC,” he emphasized.
“I believe that the key reasons for the CPC’s success are self-discipline, self-improvement, and self-purification,” said the expert, adding that self-discipline implies diligent and purposeful work for the sake of achieving the Party’s goals of a better life for all the multi-ethnic people of China; self-improvement is a constant search for new ways and mechanisms to improve the Party, while self-purification means that all ‘viruses’ that have a degrading effect on the healthy organism of the Party will be automatically eliminated.
The expert noted that the CPC model in the field of self-construction and state governance offers valuable experience to the countries of the Global South, consisting of following a development path that corresponds to their national conditions, with an emphasis on gradual reforms and innovations, as well as on maintaining sustainable development.
Touching on the role of the CPC in international affairs, Sh. Baktygulov said that against the backdrop of rapid changes in the international situation, the party actively participates in improving global governance, promoting fairness and rationality in international relations, and makes an important contribution to the cause of strengthening peace.
“China insists on a foreign policy of peaceful development, strives for mutual benefit and cooperation, and is a responsible great power. Therefore, the country is the most powerful voice of the Global South,” stated the political scientist.
Sh. Baktygulov also specifically noted that the four global initiatives put forward by China — the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative — represent an interconnected system of China’s views on addressing the key problems of the modern world. “Their significance for the world lies in offering a comprehensive approach to the common issues facing the international community and a vision of shared prosperity for all humanity,” he stated.
From July 26 to 30, the SCO Media and Think Tanks Summit 2026 is taking place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The event is organized by the Xinhua News Agency and the Kyrgyz National Information Agency Kabar. The leitmotif of the event will be “The Significance of the Shanghai Spirit in the New Era: From Consensus on Values to Cooperation Practice.”
Sh. Baktygulov, invited to the Summit, believes that the significance of the event will consist not simply in exchanging opinions, but in creating an opportunity to outline concrete paths for transforming two communities — the media and the expert communities — into a single, strategically thinking organism capable of positively influencing the further development of the region.
“The media and analytical centers ensure the transmission of the values of the “Shanghai Spirit” to national and international audiences, thereby demonstrating the image of the SCO as a responsible and stable participant in the global dialogue,” said Sh. Baktygulov, adding that the media and analytical centers also act as “engines of ideas” that give new meanings to cooperation within the SCO, assist in developing strategic guidelines, and provide intellectual support for integration processes.
“The event should strengthen the role of the media and think tanks as ‘bridges’ and ‘connecting links’ that promote trust-building, resolve disagreements, and form consensus between different countries,” said the political scientist, adding that such a regular direct dialogue allows for a better understanding of each other’s positions, the formation of a unified information and intellectual space of the SCO, the strengthening of the organization’s global significance, and making its voice more substantial and justified on the international stage. –0–
