Beijing, July 27 /Xinhua/ — A high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative will be held in Beijing on July 28. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, will attend the meeting and deliver a speech, an official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China said on Monday.
According to a representative of the Chinese foreign affairs department, the meeting will be devoted to the main theme: “The Fifth Anniversary of the Global Development Initiative: Joining Hands for a Bright Future of Sustainable Development.” It will be attended by high-ranking UN officials, diplomatic representatives of the member countries of the Group of Friends supporting the Global Development Initiative in China, representatives of UN development system resident agencies in China, renowned experts and scholars, as well as other Chinese and foreign guests.
