Moscow, July 27 /Xinhua/ — Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko took part in the Russian-Chinese educational project “Good Neighbors”, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China. “Sport unites people at all times, even when the situation around is tense. Russia and China consistently advocate for it not to become a tool of political pressure,” emphasized D. Chernyshenko.
Commenting on the development of Russian-Chinese relations in the field of tourism, he noted the established direct air connection between the two countries. The Vice Premier reported that about 2 million Russians visited China in 2025, while around 1 million Chinese citizens visited Russia. According to the results of the first quarter of the current year, the flow of Russian tourists to China increased by 60%, and Chinese tourists to Russia grew by 25%.
“By the decision of the leaders of our countries, the visa-free regime has been extended until the end of 2027. We expect that by that time our citizens will make up to 6 million mutual trips,” added D. Chernyshenko.
