The Center for Development and Implementation of High-Tech Technologies at Rosneft has released a new version of the software suite “RN-Drilling Calculations” (version 2.0). This is a universal tool that helps engineers perform calculations and model processes during the design and construction of oil and gas wells.
Rosneft is a leader in the development and implementation of innovative technologies for the sustainable development of the oil and gas sector and the only Russian oil and gas company possessing a range of proprietary import-substituting software. The Company’s high-tech software is used for production tasks in geology, design, development, and field operation. The software surpasses imported counterparts in speed, range of tasks solved, application of modern algorithms, and user-friendly interface.
The “RN-Drilling Calculations” complex allows for constructing well trajectories of any complexity, analyzing the risks of their intersection, modeling the processes of drilling, running in, and pulling out drilling equipment. The complex also helps calculate the processes of casing and cementing wells.
The new software version expands the capabilities for analysis and forecasting. Functions have been added for assessing loads on the drill string and casing taking into account their bending stiffness*, vibration analysis, as well as drilling simulation with pressure control. Additionally, the system now supports the design of offshore wells and automatic generation of project documentation in accordance with industry standards.
The software suite retains and enhances the key advantages of the previous version: the use of precise mathematical models, support for simultaneous work with multiple projects, and a user-friendly interface tailored to the tasks of the Company’s specialized professionals.
An important advantage of the updated software is its cross-platform capability – it works on both foreign and domestic operating systems.
