According to her, these technologies are easier to apply on lands already degraded, as well as in areas planned for ecological restoration. The combination of AI technologies with early warning systems already established in several countries, especially for combating drought, can transform approaches to addressing such issues.
Luis Loaiza, CEO of the Mexican AI company Jelou, noted: “China has opened the doors for cooperation, and countries around the world can join in sharing experience and moving forward together. I believe this lays a solid foundation for forming a global governance system for artificial intelligence.”
Carme Artigas, former co-chair of the UN High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, stated: “At the opening ceremony of the conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that the development of artificial intelligence should be people-centered and contribute to achieving universal prosperity. I believe this is a very important signal. China is ready to play a more active and leading role in multilateral international events and cooperation, especially in engagement with Global South countries.”
