Harbin, July 22 /Xinhua/ — On the evening of July 21, a symphony concert was held at the Harbin Concert Hall to mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia.
The event was organized by Heilongjiang Province and Primorsky Krai on behalf of the Council for Interregional Cooperation of the two states, with the support of the China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development.
The seventy-minute program brought together three ensembles on one stage: the State Philharmonic of the Republic of Sakha /Yakutia/, the string quintet of the Tver Academic Regional Philharmonic, and the Harbin Symphony Orchestra.
The concert was structured in three parts, symbolically reflecting the past, present, and future of bilateral relations.
Two pieces stood out particularly in the repertoire: the concert opener “Festive Overture” paid tribute to the Russian musical tradition, while the finale, the symphony “Ode to the Red Flag,” emphasized China’s cultural uniqueness. The organizers noted that the entire concert served as a musical bridge, demonstrating the deep friendship and mutual trust between China and Russia, and the unique power of art gave new impetus to the further development of bilateral relations, helping them reach new horizons. -0-
