Niamey, July 20 /Xinhua/ — At least 16 military personnel were killed and 23 others injured as a result of a terrorist attack on a Niger Defense and Security Forces unit in the western part of the country. This was reported on Sunday by the Niger News Agency, citing the local Ministry of Defense.
The attack occurred in the western part of the Tillabéri region near the borders with Mali and Burkina Faso.
Fifteen terrorists have been killed, five motorcycles seized, and another four destroyed, the Ministry of Defense stated.
