Shanghai, July 17 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday in Shanghai, a meeting took place between China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. During this meeting, both sides called on the United States and Iran to immediately cease fire and resume dialogue.

Noting that all parties must fulfill their commitments and comply with the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding, Wang Yi stated that China, as always, will support Pakistan’s mediation efforts and continue to play a constructive role in promoting the de-escalation of the situation in its own ways.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar informed Wang Yi about Pakistan’s recent efforts and thanked China for its understanding and support. Despite difficulties, Pakistan will move forward and continue to actively promote peace negotiations, he added.
