China has introduced a Plan for Improving Environmental Monitoring for 2026–2030.

Beijing, July 16 /Xinhua/ — The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China and the National Development and Reform Commission /NDRC/ of China jointly presented the “Plan for Improving Environmental Monitoring during the Implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030)” of the country.

The plan notes that China aims to achieve significant progress in establishing a modern environmental monitoring system by 2030, as well as defining five key tasks and six major projects for this period.

According to the plan, China intends to largely complete the establishment of an integrated environmental monitoring network, enhance early warning of risks and monitoring of new pollutants, heavy metals, and environmental disasters, as well as achieve breakthroughs in key monitoring technologies.
