Beijing, July 14 /Xinhua/ — China urges European countries to act prudently and stop supporting the illegal “South China Sea arbitration ruling” in order not to damage relations and cooperation with China, said Lin Jiang, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, on Tuesday.

Several European countries recently joined the United States and the Philippines in issuing a joint statement on the so-called “decision” ten years after its issuance, and the European Union also published a separate statement.

“These statements distort the facts and maliciously slander China. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolutely opposes them,” said the Chinese diplomat at the latest press conference.
