Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the Moscow State Technological University “STANKIN” on its 96th anniversary.
Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the university staff and noted that this educational institution confidently combines fundamental traditions with the implementation of breakthrough educational and scientific solutions.
“In its almost century-long history, MSTU “Stankin” has become a leading forge of personnel for the machine tool industry and a reliable technology provider for the industry. As a graduate of this university, I warmly remember my student years and am glad that “Stankin” keeps pace with the times. Today it is included among the 38 leading engineering universities in the country, identified by the order of the Chairman of the Government Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin — this is a great responsibility and a sign of trust. MSTU “Stankin” also actively uses the measures of the national project “Youth and Children”: it is part of the “Priority-2030″ program, develops an advanced engineering school, and a world-class campus,” emphasized Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The university closely cooperates with leading enterprises and promotes engineering education among young people. For example, it actively participates in a pilot project on industrial postgraduate education, in a seamless model of vocational education – university – enterprise cooperation with the flagship shared-use center of colleges in Moscow, “Rudnevo,” located in the special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow,” and with colleges from other regions.
On the territory of the Stanikin University campus, the head competence center for the machine-tool industry is being constructed — a unique site that will include scientific and production laboratories for research and development, a design bureau with an expert-analytical center, centers for reverse engineering and production systems engineering. This will ensure a complete production cycle: from scientific idea to the release of prototype machine tools.
The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on the growing popularity of the university among applicants: “Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin emphasizes the need to train specialists capable of generating unique solutions, ready to use advanced design and engineering methods. MSTU “STANKIN” successfully develops engineering education and cutting-edge science for the country’s technological leadership. It is important that the university is becoming increasingly popular among applicants. Compared to last year, the number of applications submitted across different fields and training formats increased by 10 thousand. I wish MSTU “STANKIN” capable, hardworking students, new breakthrough developments, and many more years of successful work for the benefit of our entire country!”
It should be noted that MSTU “Stankin” traces its history back to 1930, when the Moscow Machine Tool Institute was established to train personnel for the machine tool industry. From the very beginning, the educational process was closely linked to practice: students worked at the factory for four days and attended theoretical classes for two days. In 1992, the institute gained university status and a new name — Moscow State Technological University “Stankin”.
