Beijing, July 10 /Xinhua/ — In 2026, China harvested a record summer grain crop. The figure exceeded 150 million tons for the first time, according to official data released on Friday.
According to data from the State Statistical Administration /SSA/ of the PRC, 150.75 million tons of summer grain crops were harvested in the country, which is 1 million tons or 0.7 percent more year-on-year.
The sown area for summer cereals in the country remained generally stable, amounting to more than 26.53 million hectares, which is 0.2% less compared to the previous year. In particular, the sown area for wheat exceeded 23 million hectares, which is 0.3% less year on year.
According to the Main Directorate of Statistics, the yield of grain crops for the summer harvest per hectare in the country reached 5,681.6 kg, increasing by 0.8% year-on-year, the agency stated. -0-
