Beijing, July 5 /Xinhua/ — The naval forces of China and Russia will conduct joint exercises “Maritime Interaction-2026” in July in the maritime area and airspace near the Chinese port city of Qingdao (Shandong Province, East China). This was reported on Sunday by the Ministry of Defense of the People’s Republic of China.
After the maneuvers, part of the military personnel from both sides will head to their respective areas of the Pacific Ocean to conduct joint maritime patrols, the ministry’s statement said.
These joint exercises are part of the annual cooperation program between the armed forces of China and Russia and are aimed at joint response to security challenges, as well as jointly maintaining regional peace and stability, noted the Chinese Ministry of Defense. -0-
