Washington, July 3 /Xinhua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that Iran would purchase agricultural products from the United States as part of a potential peace agreement to end the war, but Iran denied this statement.
“They don’t make money, so we are going to take part of the money and buy them /food/. They need food. They need corn, wheat, and soybeans, and we are going to supply them exclusively from our American farmers,” D. Trump said in an interview with CNBC.
However, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, told the Iranian news agency Tasnim that “there are no obligations to purchase agricultural products in the USA.”
In an interview, D. Trump said that negotiations with Iran are progressing, and, in his opinion, Tehran has agreed to “almost everything we need.” –0–
