China’s Central Bank invested 10 billion yuan in June through open market bond operations

Beijing, July 3 /Xinhua/ — The People’s Bank of China/PBOC, the Central Bank, announced on Friday that in June it carried out a net liquidity injection of 10 billion yuan, /about 1.47 billion US dollars/, through open market operations of buying and selling government bonds.

According to the Central Bank, the net volume of inflows through this channel amounted to 300 billion yuan during the first half of 2026.

In its report on the implementation of monetary policy for the first quarter, the National Bank of Kazakhstan stated that it has been conducting operations with government bonds on a regular basis since the beginning of the year, flexibly adjusting the size of operations depending on the needs for base money and the situation in the bond market.

PBOC data also showed that net injections through medium-term lending facilities amounted to 200 billion yuan in June, while other structural monetary policy instruments recorded a net withdrawal of 137.2 billion yuan.

Moreover, last month the seven-day reverse REPO operations provided a net injection of 582.6 billion yuan, and reverse REPO operations with other terms added another 300 billion yuan. -0-
