The new prosecutor of Saint Petersburg, Andrey Gurishev, paid a familiarization visit to Polytech. He was appointed to the position by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on March 25, 2026. Andrey Gurishev was born in Leningrad and graduated from Saint Petersburg State University with a degree in Jurisprudence.
Also, the delegation visiting the university included the First Deputy Prosecutor of St. Petersburg, Viktor Vinetsky, and the Prosecutor of the Kalininsky District, Denis Ivanov. The guests were welcomed by the rector of SPbPU, Andrey Rudskoy, and the university’s scientific secretary, Dmitry Karpov.
The representatives of the supervisory authority were told about the main stages of the university’s development, its achievements, and its contribution to the country’s progress, and were then invited on a tour of the Main Building.
The Director of the History Museum of SPbPU, Valery Klimov, shared many interesting and little-known facts about the Polytechnic, its outstanding alumni, faculty, and scientists, whose portraits decorate the corridors of the Main Building. At the Polytechnic Museum, guests saw rare exhibits and valuable collections donated to the university by alumni and staff. The exhibitions, representing milestones not only in the university’s history but also the country’s, left no one indifferent: guests asked many questions and exchanged impressions.
The tour continued in the meeting hall of the Academic Council and the White Hall — where the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education was preparing for the graduation ceremony. Then the guests visited the Research Building “Technopolis Polytech,” where they were shown a model of the SPbPU campus and the “Polytechnic” Supercomputer Center.
